Who Am I and Why Photography?

Hi there! Welcome to my first blog post. I figured a good way to start things off would be to tell you a little more about myself and my photography thus far.

So a little about me... Well if you haven't guessed by now, my name is Taylor, nice to meet you! I moved to Cumberland Maryland about 3 years ago once I graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a bachelors in Engineering Design and an associates in Automated Manufacturing. Slightly off course from photography huh? Well, in my junior year of college, I took Photography 101 and I fell in love. Being able to capture a moment to hold onto forever is just an amazing feeling.

I have a number of other hobbies. Way too many if we're being honest. But! I enjoy trying out new things, so if my interest is piqued, it's very likely I'm going to try it out. So aside from photography, you might catch me mountain biking some local trails, or even running those trails. I thoroughly enjoy all types of music and try my best to play the guitar every now and then, sorry neighbors...

Once I graduated college I didn't do a whole lot of photography because I was so busy with work. It took me about a year to adjust to the “real world". Once I adjusted, I realized I really wanted to get back to photography. Every time I'd try to think of what I'd want to do on the side, I'd always end up back at some creative outlet. Which 9 times out of 10 was photography.

Early last year, I decided I'd take on the tasks ahead. I worked with some friends to get my portfolio off the ground, worked many hours on getting a website in order, watched (and continue to watch) hours on end of youtube videos and enrolled in a ton of online photography workshops.
